Big Walker Lookout welcomes back the Central Pickers to play on the front porch this Summer! They are from Bland County and are always a crowd favorite because they play a little bit of everything! Come up and listen to their wide range of music!

All Mountain Top Music concerts are free to the public. The performers donate their time and talent for our enjoyment, so all tips and donations are accepted and encouraged! CDs are available for purchase. Please show your appreciation for these musicians and their music.

It features more than 25 local artisans, crafters, and musicians that demonstrate their talents each weekend from May through October. We are excited to have Valley Grass back to play on the porch.
Valley Grass is a bluegrass gospel and bluegrass band that originated out of Rich Valley Presbyterian Church. The band was started in March 2006 by Raymond Campbell, former member of Fescue, as a result of individuals who were eager to learn how to play a musical instrument met weekly at the church and from there the group was formed. Several members of the group have been and will continue to be mentors to the youth that are interested in the learning the music.

Valley Grass has played at numerous gospel and bluegrass venues over the past few years. Some of those include churches, community events, the Pickin’ Porch, Grace Healthcare, Crooked Road General Store, Smyth County Jam and the Heartwood. We play once a month at Valley Health Care and twice a month at the Southwest Virginia Mental Health Institute as part of our contribution back to the community.

Everyone in the group holds dear to their faith and thanks God for the talents He has placed in their lives. We give God all the praise and the glory for the wonderful things He has done in our lives and the lives of others through our music ministry.

Big Walker Tower and The GFWC Wytheville Women's Club will be hosting the 4th Annual Tower Climb Challenge Saturday Sept 13, 2025, starting at 11:00am. This event is a tribute to ALL FIRTST RESPONDERS!

Hot dogs and BBQ will be on hand. Cold drinks can be purchased inside with a discount. Come climb the tower with our own First Responders!!
